Purgatory - a call to prayer, repentance, and forgiveness

Purgatory - a call to prayer, repentance, and forgiveness

What's the first image that comes to your mind when you hear the word, "purgatory"? Artists over the centuries have depicted purgatory as a place where souls endure fiery torment while awaiting heaven, so you're in good company if purgatory conjures up images of fire and suffering. "Purgatory," the new film by Michal Kondrat (Faustina: Love and Mercy), seeks to dispel fearful notions of purgatory, while at the same time issuing a call to repentance and prayer. Mass - processing a tragedy

Mass - processing a tragedy

Actor-turned-writer/director, Fran Kranz, tackles a tough subject in his feature film debut, "Mass." The emotional aftermath of a school shooting for family members left behind seems like an unusual plot for a film, but Kranz hits all the right notes in this understated but realistic portrayal of two couples struggling to come to terms with what happened at their sons' school six years previous.

Come From Away - human goodness will always win

Come From Away - human goodness will always win

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Apple TV+ brings to the screen the musical that pays tribute to the people of Gander, Newfoundland, who welcomed over 7,000 people, practically doubling their population, when planes were diverted from American airspace after the attacks of September 11, 2001. The musical, at the same time heartwarming, funny, and respectful, tells the stories of the best of humanity on a day when the worst was also in evidence.

A Father's Legacy

A Father's Legacy

"In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears." This quote from Psalm 18:6 (NRSV) lies at the heart of "A Father's Legacy," coming to theaters for one night only on June 17th, just in time for Father's Day. God's providence peeks through this simple yet touching story of a son searching for a father he's never known.
